New OPM Alt-Rock/Metal band KLUTCH releases debut single, "Draybr"

Press Release: 14-01-16 - New OPM Alt-Rock/Metal band KLUTCH releases debut single, "Draybr"

Klutch (stylized as "KLUTCH") is a new Filipino OPM Alternative Rock / Metal band from Antipolo City, Rizal, Philippines and was formed from members of three different existing underground local bands (guitarist Winnie "Souldagger" Choy and drummer Ompong Carait were from the hard-rock band Reaktor, vocalist Victor "G" Montealto from the punk band The Factory, while bassist Chris Gracela was in the prog-rock band Quantum X).

From May to August 2013, Klutch's long jams in the studio have turned out several ideas for their upcoming EP album release, "Take Out", due sometime in 2014.  Since then, John "John2" Linguete has taken over the bass while his cousin Bryan "Bry" Linguete is now on the drums.

Their debut 5-minute release, "Draybr", was recorded in guitarist Souldagger's home studio and has several sections that is part metal (intro, chorus and outro), part hard-rock (verses, solo), part grunge (coda).  The influences of band favorites Black Sabbath, Guns 'N Roses, Deep Purple, Metallica and Alice in Chains are obvious.  Evidently, the lyrics were inspired by vocalists G's thoughts on the salt of the earth - taxicab/tricycle drivers' often dangerous daily grinds just to get by while risking everything.  It was also written for the many violent near-death car accidents of several band members in recent years.

It is to note that all the vocals were recorded in a corner of the house after reportedly messing around and drinking several bottles of hard liquor!  That's rock and roll and you can hear it right there on the track.  The Guns were no different supposedly.
